Flight Attendant Jobs with Tattoos

Introduction

The airline industry has long been known for its strict dress codes and grooming standards. However, in recent years, more and more airlines have relaxed their policies when it comes to tattoos. This has led to a lot of confusion among job seekers who are considering a career as a flight attendant. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what the rules are when it comes to flight attendant jobs with tattoos.

What Airlines Allow Tattoos?

The policies regarding tattoos vary from airline to airline. Some airlines, like Southwest and JetBlue, have no restrictions on visible tattoos. Others, like Delta and United, allow tattoos, but they must be covered up with clothing or makeup. Still, other airlines, like Emirates and Qatar Airways, have strict policies prohibiting any visible tattoos.

Why the Change in Policy?

The change in policy regarding tattoos is largely due to the fact that airlines are struggling to find qualified candidates to fill their flight attendant positions. As a result, they are becoming more lenient when it comes to things like tattoos and piercings. Additionally, airlines are recognizing that tattoos are becoming more mainstream and are no longer associated with negative stereotypes.

What Do Flight Attendants with Tattoos Say?

Flight attendants who have tattoos have mixed feelings about the policies. Some feel that they should be allowed to show their tattoos, while others are happy to cover them up. One flight attendant with a large tattoo on her arm said, “I cover it up because I want to look professional, but I wish I could show it off sometimes.” Another flight attendant with a small tattoo on her wrist said, “I don’t mind covering it up. It’s just part of the job.”

What Do Passengers Think?

Passengers have also weighed in on the topic of flight attendants with tattoos. Some say that they don’t care if their flight attendant has tattoos, while others say that they prefer a more traditional look. One frequent flyer said, “I like it when flight attendants look professional and put together. Tattoos can be distracting.”

What Are the Pros and Cons of Showing Tattoos?

There are pros and cons to showing tattoos as a flight attendant. On the one hand, it allows flight attendants to express themselves and show their individuality. On the other hand, it can be seen as unprofessional and distracting. Additionally, some passengers may be put off by tattoos, which could impact their overall flying experience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, flight attendant jobs with tattoos are becoming more common, but policies regarding tattoos vary from airline to airline. It’s important for job seekers to research the policies of the airline they are applying to before getting a tattoo. Additionally, flight attendants with tattoos should be respectful of their passengers and the image that their airline is trying to portray.
