Tattoo Facing Inward or Outward: Which is Better?

Tattoos have been a part of human culture for thousands of years, and they’ve never been more popular than they are today. But when it comes to getting a tattoo, one of the most important decisions you’ll have to make is whether to get it facing inward or outward. In this article, we’ll explore the pros and cons of each option, and provide you with some expert advice to help you make the right choice.

What is an Inward-Facing Tattoo?

An inward-facing tattoo is one that is designed to be viewed by the wearer, rather than by others. This means that the tattoo will be oriented in such a way that it is readable when you look down at it, rather than when others look at you. Inward-facing tattoos are often placed on the wrist, forearm, or upper arm, and they can be a great way to remind yourself of something important, like a person, a place, or a goal.

What is an Outward-Facing Tattoo?

An outward-facing tattoo, on the other hand, is designed to be viewed by others, rather than by the wearer. This means that the tattoo will be oriented in such a way that it is readable when others look at you, rather than when you look down at it. Outward-facing tattoos are often placed on the chest, back, or shoulder, and they can be a great way to express yourself and show off your personality.

The Pros and Cons of Inward-Facing Tattoos

One of the biggest advantages of an inward-facing tattoo is that it is more personal and meaningful. Since you will be the only one who can see it, it can be a way to remind yourself of something important or to express your individuality without drawing attention to yourself. However, one of the biggest disadvantages of an inward-facing tattoo is that it can be difficult to show off. If you want to share your tattoo with others, you’ll have to go out of your way to do so.

The Pros and Cons of Outward-Facing Tattoos

One of the biggest advantages of an outward-facing tattoo is that it is more visible and can be shared with others. This can be a great way to express yourself and show off your personality, and it can also be a way to start conversations and meet new people. However, one of the biggest disadvantages of an outward-facing tattoo is that it can be more prone to fading and damage. Since it is exposed to the elements and can be rubbed against clothing and other objects, it may not last as long as an inward-facing tattoo.
