Moonshine Tattoo Ideas: A Guide to Ink That Shines Bright

Moonshine tattoos, also known as UV tattoos, are a type of tattoo that glows under black light. These tattoos are perfect for people who want a unique and eye-catching design that will stand out in any room. If you’re considering getting a moonshine tattoo, here are some ideas to inspire your next ink.

1. Celestial Designs

Since moonshine tattoos glow under black light, celestial designs are a popular choice for this type of tattoo. Think stars, moons, and galaxies. You could go for a simple crescent moon on your wrist or a full galaxy on your back. The possibilities are endless.

“I got a moonshine tattoo of the Big Dipper on my arm and it looks so cool under black light. It’s like I have a secret tattoo that only shows up at parties,” says Sarah, 27.

2. Black Light Text

If you want to make a statement with your ink, consider getting a quote or phrase tattooed in black light ink. This could be a meaningful quote, a funny phrase, or even your favorite song lyrics. Just make sure to choose a font that will show up clearly under black light.

“I got the words ‘nevertheless, she persisted’ tattooed on my collarbone in moonshine ink. It’s a reminder to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles come my way,” says Taylor, 31.

3. Geometric Designs

Moonshine tattoos can also look amazing with geometric designs. Think triangles, circles, and other shapes. You could go for a simple design on your wrist or a more intricate pattern on your arm or leg.

“I got a moonshine tattoo of a dodecahedron on my ankle and it looks so cool. I love that it’s a subtle design that only shows up under black light,” says Alex, 25.

4. Nature-Inspired Designs

If you love nature, consider getting a moonshine tattoo inspired by the great outdoors. This could be a tree, a flower, or even a butterfly. Just make sure to choose a design that will look good in both natural light and under black light.

“I got a moonshine tattoo of a hummingbird on my shoulder and it looks so beautiful. I love that it’s a design that represents freedom and joy,” says Emily, 29.

5. Animal Designs

Finally, animal designs are another popular choice for moonshine tattoos. You could go for a simple paw print on your ankle or a more intricate design of your favorite animal on your back. Just make sure to choose a design that will show up clearly under black light.

“I got a moonshine tattoo of a wolf on my forearm and it looks so badass under black light. I love that it’s a design that represents strength and resilience,” says Jake, 33.
