Putting Ashes into Tattoo Ink: A Controversial Trend

Tattoos have become a popular form of self-expression and art, with millions of people getting inked every year. However, a new trend has emerged in recent years that has sparked controversy and debate: putting ashes into tattoo ink.

What is the Trend of Putting Ashes into Tattoo Ink?

As the name suggests, this trend involves mixing a small amount of a deceased loved one’s ashes into tattoo ink. The idea behind it is to create a permanent tribute to the deceased, with the ink containing a part of their essence.

Some people believe that this is a beautiful and meaningful way to remember their loved ones, while others see it as strange, morbid, and disrespectful.

The Risks and Concerns of Putting Ashes into Tattoo Ink

One of the biggest concerns with this trend is the potential health risks. Ashes are not sterile, and mixing them into tattoo ink can introduce harmful bacteria and viruses into the skin. This can lead to infection, allergic reactions, and other health problems.

Additionally, there is no regulation or oversight when it comes to putting ashes into tattoo ink. This means that tattoo artists may not know how to properly sterilize the ashes or mix them into the ink, which can further increase the risk of health complications.

The Debate Surrounding Putting Ashes into Tattoo Ink

There are passionate arguments on both sides of the debate about putting ashes into tattoo ink. Some people see it as a beautiful and personal way to honor a loved one, while others view it as disrespectful and potentially dangerous.

Those who support the trend argue that it allows them to keep their loved one close to them at all times and creates a lasting tribute that can be cherished for years to come. They also point out that tattooing has a long history of cultural and spiritual significance, and putting ashes into tattoo ink is simply an extension of that tradition.

On the other hand, critics contend that this trend is unnecessary and potentially harmful. They argue that there are other, safer ways to honor a loved one, such as creating a memorial or keeping their ashes in an urn.

How to Properly Apply Sunscreen on a New Tattoo

Introduction

Getting a new tattoo is an exciting experience, but it also requires proper aftercare to ensure that it heals properly. One of the most important things to keep in mind is protecting your new tattoo from the sun’s harmful UV rays. In this article, we will provide tips on how to properly apply sunscreen on a new tattoo to keep it looking vibrant and prevent fading.

Why Sunscreen is Important for New Tattoos

When you get a new tattoo, your skin is in a fragile state and is susceptible to damage from the sun. The sun’s UV rays can cause the ink to fade, blur, and even cause skin damage around the tattoo. Sunburns can be especially harmful to a new tattoo, as they can cause blistering and scarring.

Choosing the Right Sunscreen

Not all sunscreens are created equal, especially when it comes to protecting a new tattoo. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and one that is water-resistant. It’s also important to choose a sunscreen that is free of fragrances and other irritants that can cause an allergic reaction or irritation to the skin.

When to Apply Sunscreen on a New Tattoo

It’s important to apply sunscreen on a new tattoo every time you plan to spend time outdoors, even on cloudy or overcast days. Apply sunscreen at least 15-20 minutes before going outside to allow it to fully absorb into the skin. Reapply every two hours or immediately after swimming or sweating.

How to Apply Sunscreen on a New Tattoo

When applying sunscreen on a new tattoo, use a generous amount to ensure that the tattoo is fully covered. Be gentle and avoid rubbing or scrubbing the tattoo, as this can cause irritation or damage to the new ink. Apply sunscreen to the entire tattoo, as well as the surrounding skin to prevent any sun damage.

What to Avoid When Applying Sunscreen on a New Tattoo

Avoid using any products that contain alcohol or other harsh chemicals on a new tattoo, as these can cause irritation and delay the healing process. Also, avoid applying sunscreen on a tattoo that hasn’t fully healed, as this can cause infection or other complications.

Comments from Tattoo Artists

We asked a few tattoo artists for their tips on applying sunscreen on a new tattoo: – “Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your tattoo from both UVA and UVB rays.” – Sarah, Tattoo Artist – “Don’t skimp on the sunscreen- apply it generously and often to keep your tattoo looking fresh.” – Mike, Tattoo Artist – “If you’re unsure about which sunscreen to use, ask your tattoo artist for recommendations.” – Emily, Tattoo Artist
