The Story Behind Jason Terry’s Tattoo

Jason Terry, a former shooting guard for the Boston Celtics, made headlines with his impressive skills on the court. But what many people don’t know is that Terry’s commitment to the team was more than just skin deep. In 2012, he got a tattoo of the Celtics logo on his arm, cementing his loyalty to the team.

Terry’s decision to get the tattoo was not taken lightly. As he explained in an interview with ESPN, “It’s something that I wanted to do. I wanted to show my commitment to this organization and let everyone know that I’m here to help bring another championship to Boston.”

The Significance of the Celtics Logo

The Boston Celtics logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in basketball. It features a leprechaun dribbling a basketball, with the team’s name written in bold letters. The logo is steeped in history, dating back to the team’s founding in 1946.

For Terry, the logo represented not only the team’s rich history but also its future. As he said in the same ESPN interview, “When you think of the Celtics, you think of championships. I want to be a part of that tradition and help build on it.”

The Reaction from Fans and Teammates

Terry’s tattoo quickly became a topic of conversation among Celtics fans and players alike. Many praised him for his dedication to the team and his willingness to make such a permanent statement of loyalty.

Former teammate Paul Pierce, who also has a Celtics tattoo, was supportive of Terry’s decision. In an interview with ESPN, Pierce said, “It just shows how committed he is to the organization. It’s a sign of loyalty.”

Even fans from rival teams had to admit that Terry’s tattoo was impressive. As one commenter on a sports forum wrote, “I may hate the Celtics, but I have to respect Jason Terry’s dedication.”

The Legacy of Jason Terry’s Tattoo

Although Terry is no longer with the Celtics, his tattoo remains a symbol of his commitment to the team and its fans. It serves as a reminder that loyalty and dedication are just as important off the court as they are on it.

As one fan put it, “That tattoo shows that Jason Terry was more than just a player for the Celtics. He was a part of the team’s history and its future.”
