How to Make a Jail Tattoo Gun

Introduction

Tattoos are one of the most popular forms of body art, with people from all walks of life sporting them. However, not everyone can afford to get a professional tattoo, and this is where homemade tattoo guns come in handy. In jail, tattooing is a common practice, and inmates have come up with various ways to create tattoo guns using simple materials.

Materials Required

To make a jail tattoo gun, you will need a few basic materials like a motor, a battery, a pen, a guitar string, a toothbrush, and some tape. These materials are readily available in most jails and can be easily procured.

Building the Tattoo Gun

The first step in building a jail tattoo gun is to remove the motor from a cassette player or a CD player. Once you have the motor, attach a guitar string to it using some tape. The guitar string should be tightly attached to the motor and should be able to move back and forth. Next, take a pen and remove the ink cartridge from it. Insert the guitar string through the pen and secure it in place with some tape. The pen should now be able to move up and down along with the guitar string. Take a toothbrush and remove the bristles from it. Attach the toothbrush to the pen using some tape. The toothbrush acts as a grip and makes it easier to hold the tattoo gun.

Powering the Tattoo Gun

To power the tattoo gun, you will need a battery. In jail, inmates usually use a D battery, but you can use any battery that fits the motor. Attach the battery to the motor using some tape, and your tattoo gun is now ready to use.

Using the Tattoo Gun

To use the tattoo gun, dip the guitar string in some ink and start tattooing. The tattoo gun may take some getting used to, as it can be quite noisy and may vibrate a lot. However, with some practice, you should be able to create some decent tattoos.
